Policies & Procedures
Registration
Each student must fill out a registration form before beginning lessons. A non-refundable fee of $10 will be assessed at the time registration. Payment may be made in cash or check made payable to First Note Music.
Payment of Lesson Fees
Payment is
required in advance of each month's lessons. Payment is due no later than the 4th week of the month, for the following month's lessons. Reminders may be posted in the studio waiting area, on lesson room doors and on in-studio advertising.
Missed Lessons & Make-Ups
No make-up lessons will be given unless absence is due to serious illness or injury. 24-hour's notice must be given in the case of a non-emergency and it is up to the instructor an the student to set a make-up lesson. No refund or credit will be given to absent students unless previously discussed with the instructor. Make-up lessons may be subject to a minimum $4.00 charge per 30-minute lesson. Parents or adult students should contact their instructor directly to cancel a lesson or schedule a make-up.
Care of Sudents
The Studios at First Note Music are not responsible for providing before or after lesson care for students. Parents are encouraged to drop off students no earlier than 15 mintues prior to and pick-up no later than 15 minutes after a lesson. Students are not to be left at the Studios for excessive time before or after lessons. Parents are welcome to remain in the Studios for their child's lesson or observe the lesson directly.
Responsibility of the Parents or Adult Students
It is the responsibility of the parent or adult student to be aware of Studio activities such as recitals and dates the Studios may be closed. First Note Music will post notices on the bulletin boards and on in-studio advertising to keep students up-to-date. It is the responsibility of parents and students to regularly check these boards to ensure they are informed. It is the responsibility of the parent or student to promptly inform their instructor of any address or telephone number changes.
Performances
One of the most important aspects of learning music is performance. Each Spring and Winter, First Note Music hosts a recital for students to show off their talents. These recitals provide both growth and self-confidence for fledgling performers. First Note Music and individual instructors may occasionaly host additional recitals or performances that students may attend. Because of this, we strongly encourage that your student participate at these recitals.
Injuries
Parents and/or legal guardians of minor students and adult students waive the right to any legal action for any injury sustained on store property resulting from normal lesson activity or any other activity conducted by the students before, during or after lesson times.
