Walter Herman, Band & Beginning Guitar

Living in Florida most of his life, Mr. Herman graduated from Riverview High in Sarasota. He then went on to the University of Miami where he earned a Associate's Degree in Music and then a Bachelor's Degree in Music Education. He began teaching in the Lee County School Dristrict while then earning a Master's Degree in Education Supervision from the University of South Florida.

Mr. Herman retired from public school teaching after 32 years as a band director. For 20 of those years he also conducted the Lee County Community Band. Mr. Herman owns a home in North Carolina where he spends time each Summer with his wife. His son carries on the public service tradition as a Cape Coral Police officer and his daughter-in-law is also a teacher.

Mr. Herman teaches saxophone, clarinet, flute, trumpet, trombone, bassoon and beginning guitar. He works at First Note Music on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday.
